Have you ever told yourself to stop freaking out on your first day at a new job? Told yourself you were over reacting after a tricky breakup? What about put yourself down because you moved to a new town and are having trouble making new friends? Claire Becker is here to listen to all of it.
Becker has been working to help better people’s lives in one way or another for over 10 years now. After starting off as a middle school bilingual teacher, “I quickly discovered how much I LOVE the aha! moments.” Shortly after taking the leap to start her own life-coaching business, Becker realized that her passion is to work specifically in that transition space of life.
That moment where you move from one space to another can be difficult mentally, physically, consciously and subconsciously. It is often a moment of vulnerability in life when we transition from what we used to be to what we are now. We begin to feel defensive and overthink things. Our emotions might become unstable and our confidence might decrease a little as we step out of our comfort zone. According to Becker, her role is to “be your partner during this time. To center you through all of life’s changes and to make sure you don’t get lost in it.”
Becker says that this is the role of any life coach, and especially a transition coach. In good times, she is meant to make your dreams bigger and more possible, and in the difficult she makes sure you stand close to your personal values and to remind you that you matter.
“I really think this world needs to get better. At the moment it doesn’t serve all of us,” said Becker. “I believe I can help it get better in the coaching space.” She continues, “My job as a transition coach is to help the client with what they want to do. They are always the most important person in the call, and I am just there to help.”
The goal of The Workbench is to keep improving on yourself. We all have some part of ourselves that we want to improve upon or grow into. Whether that be working with your hands to calm your mind or building your confidence and planning out your goals, The Workbench and Claire Becker Coaching have very similar missions: to discover your values, to become more in-touch with your community and to get in touch with your wholeness.
